Holiday Heaven

People are happy this time of year,

Filled with joy and holiday cheer.

Some do not see the pain in your eyes,

I'm the reason, I realize.

I'm the reason you're hurting this year,

Because your loved one is not here.

For I say a prayer every night,

Send one to hold my baby tight.

My baby is in heaven you see,

Needing to be cared for, for me.

Needing loving arms of your loved one,

To hold her 'till my life is done.

Not just anyone could care for her,

So sweet, so gentle and so pure.

I requested the best to be there,

That's why your loved one isn't here.

This holiday season I must say,

Wish I could take your pain away.

Your loved one is in heaven today,

With my baby they laugh and play.
